Following the release of his third studio album *Stellar Drifting* last year, George FitzGerald unveils his captivating new EP, *Not As I*!
The first single from the EP, "Mother," is a collaboration with SYML, the solo project of American artist Brian Fennell, who recently collaborated with Lana Del Rey on the track "Paris, Texas" from her latest album. "Mother" features a beautiful piano melody set against hypnotic rhythms, enhanced by SYML's crystalline and haunting voice.
Recorded in George's London studio at the end of 2022, "Mother" and the rest of the *Not As I* EP showcase George's continued evolution as a producer and his ability to reframe his work through new collaborations. "I've been thinking a lot about my first album, *Fading Love*, and wanted to revisit the quieter, more intimate side of my sound," George explains. "The music occupies a liminal space between the club and home listening. For me, *Stellar Drifting* overflows with nervous energy and maximalist sound design. In my head, this is the permanence of it all."
