Originally at Gossips in the basement of 69 Dean Street, its entrance was on Meard St., the cobbled alley linking it to Wardour Street in the heart of Soho, traditionally the center of clubs and the red-light district of London's West End. After DJing and presenting bands there for over 14 years, Gaz moved the Thursday club night around the corner to St. Moritz, 159 Wardour Street. Another great dive into the basements of Soho with a huge history. The choice of music in this particular selection contains two fundamental styles of boogie-oriented rhythm and blues music that have influenced the world. The post-war era of black music was led by r\u0026b which inspired 50s rock 'n' roll. Here, you have the hard core of black rock 'n' roll. You'll also hear moving, exciting, and sometimes frantic 50s gospel. The genre in which most rhythm and blues, black rock 'n' roll, and soul stars got their start. Gaz chose a few Jamaican tracks to illustrate the role Jamaican music played in influencing the style and direction of Gaz's Rockin' Blues.
