In addition to establishing himself as one of the most innovative vibraphonists of his generation, Gary Burton has been a tremendous talent scout throughout his career. In 1973, The New Quartet enabled Abraham Laboriel to record his very first album, acting as a springboard for one who would soon become one of the most sought-after bassists.
