Pietro Antonio Locatelli (1695-1764): 24 Caprices for Solo Violin Op.3 The 24 Caprices by Pietro Antonio Locatelli are unique in their kind, both in terms of form and content. Taken from L'Arte del Violino op.III, published in 1733 in Amsterdam, the Caprices are placed at the end of the outer movements of the 12 Concertos included in this collection. They are the written cadences of these movements. Locatelli specifies in the header of the score that these Caprices can be played independently of the Concertos of opus III.
