With Elevator Songs, the first collaboration between Grammy-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth and singer-songwriter Gabriel Kahane, the laws of time and space give way to pure emotion. Written for Roomful of Teeth's eight voices, accompanied by Kahane on keyboards and guitar, the album is enriched by the textures of two ensemble members: Eliza Bagg on violin and Jodie Landau on vibraphone. The group recorded the album in four days in late 2024, with the help of producer and sound engineer Joseph Lorge (three-time Grammy nominee). The result? A journey ranging from the absurd ("Valise", "Hot Tub") to the moving ("Not Even the Dead", "Memory Burns"), and everything in between.
