{"product_id":"gabor-szabo_live-in-cleveland-1976_2022_lba","title":"Live In Cleveland 1976","description":"Hungarian guitarist Gabor Szabo (1936-82) only made three live recordings during his lifetime. The first of these, The Sorcerer (1967), remains the most popular album in the guitarist's all-too-brief discography. But there is also More Sorcery (1968) and Gabor Szabo Live with Charles Lloyd (1974), where Szabo is completely in his element and at his best. Several other concert recordings by Szabo have surfaced in the years since, including this one, superbly captured for a live radio broadcast in 1976 at the 600-seat Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio. It is a revelation. We hear Szabo leading what is likely his own group, rather than an army of studio musicians. In 1976, Szabo led a formidable quartet with George Cables (or Joanne Grauer) on piano, Tony Dumas on bass, and Sherman Ferguson on drums. Szabo had not had such a powerful group since his famous quartet with Jimmy Stewart in 1967-68 — and it is a union worth savoring: At that time, Szabo's records were, at best, light on jazz.","brand":"Gabor Szabo","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57475773563224,"sku":null,"price":20220826.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/8016670151807.jpg?v=1780957967","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/gabor-szabo_live-in-cleveland-1976_2022_lba","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
