{"product_id":"gabi-hartmann_la-femme-aux-yeux-de-sel_2025_son_1","title":"La femme aux yeux de sel","description":"Gabi Hartmann is the atypical universe of an artist who blurs the lines between pop, folk, jazz, soul, and world music. She sings what inspires her in several languages, escaping categories. She has managed to impose her own style, but also her ambiguous emotion: a voice with a warm and clear timbre, at once gentle, melancholic, and soothing.\n\nHer first eponymous album, released in 2023, has been streamed over twenty million times and sold more than 15,000 copies (the best-selling Jazz\/World album in France of the year) and earned her the Gold Disk Award for Best New International Artist in Japan, as well as fine distinctions in the French and international press, and she has followed up with several sold-out shows (at the Francofolies de la Rochelle, at the Seine Musicale, and at the Cigale).\n\nToday, Gabi returns with her second album titled La femme aux yeux de sel. This album opens with a nursery rhyme that tells the story of a woman named Salinda, an inhabitant of a dream island, whose salt eyes melt with every tear shed. To heal her eyes, she sets off on a journey in search of the secrets of salt. Could the album be a small mirror of this tale? Gabi discovers herself and grows through the songs, learning to know herself by questioning both the world around her and her inner world, as well as her life experiences as a woman. Above all, she tells her emotions: the joy of her travels and the difficulty of opening up to others, the melancholy that awaits her, the anger at a sick world, the suffering, the anguish, then the wonder of nature that heals her.\n\nShe draws her inspirations from women artists: Salinda is inspired by the Rumba of the Islands from Marguerite Duras's film India Song (composed and arranged with Oan Kim). She pays homage to Latin American music and especially to female voices such as those of Mercedes Sosa, but also to the South African singer Miriam Makeba who has inspired her for years.\n\nFinally, this album is the fruit of beautiful collaborations, both old (Oan Kim and Jesse Harris) and new: we can hear the Syrian flutist Naïssam Jalal on the track Le lever de Soleil, questioning the state of the world. This track, like Love High and Ton monde secret, was composed and produced with saxophonist and composer Laurent Bardainne (who has collaborated with Camélia Jordana, Jeanne Added, and November Ultra).\n\nWe can also recognize the creation of Baptiste Trotignon, with whom she composes the track Mélancolie, magnified by the emotion and elegance of the string arrangements by Brazilian composer Maycon Ananias.\n\nWith her latent melancholy and her universe rich in colors and rhythms, Gabi gradually blurs the boundaries between eras and styles to write a dreamlike world all her own. That is the secret of this personal, multi-faceted record, demanding and accessible in the same breath.","brand":"Gabi Hartmann","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57520711532888,"sku":null,"price":20250321.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/gabi-hartmann_la-femme-aux-yeux-de-sel_2025_son_1","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
