Furniture is a British new wave group active between 1979 and 1991, but far more eclectic than one might think, also incorporating jazz, blues, and post-punk sounds. They are recognized for their poetic lyrics and high-quality productions, but also for the many obstacles they encountered. These obstacles ultimately prevented them from breaking through, making them a kind of "what if" for the emerging English new wave scene. Although active since the late 1970s, it was their first album, *The Wrong People*, released in 1986, that brought them commercial success. Driven by the single *Brilliant Mind*, the album reached number 21 on the UK Singles Chart and remains their only appearance on that chart. They later released a new version of their 1984 single, *Love Your Shoes*. Despite radio success, the track failed to chart due to an insufficient number of copies to meet demand. The album suffered the same fate, which explains its rarity. Having become cult in recent years, this album seemed ideal to us for a vinyl reissue, the first since its original release in 1986. "The Wrong People" is available in a special 40th anniversary edition on orange vinyl and includes a booklet with lyrics.
