Jeff Lynne, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and music legend, returns following a remarkable series of sold-out concerts in Europe and the United States with a brand new album, From Out of Nowhere available for pre-order.
Lynne, whose music has deeply touched fans for three generations, has found himself in recent years at the peak of his talents as a songwriter, musician, and producer. This album includes ten tracks, from the nostalgic "Help Yourself" to the famous "Down Came the Rain" and the rock "One More Time" (pianist Richard Tandy's solo) and the gentle "Songbird".
Like its predecessor, 2015's Alone in the Universe, From Out of Nowhere shows Lynne in new facets, drawing both from his heritage and opening new paths in terms of sounds and emotions. Once again, he plays almost every note of the music on guitar, bass, piano, drums, and keyboards, in addition to singing all the vocals in harmony, solo, and layered. Steve Jay, who also designed the album, adds some percussion.
The very existence of the album is an unexpected joy, both for its creator and his fans. "'From Out of Nowhere" - that's exactly where it comes from, says Lynne. "It's the first track I wrote for this album; it's kind of its DNA." It's a song about hope and salvation. Lynne has often turned to optimism, a recurring theme throughout the album: "Everyone deserves a little hope."
With over 50 million albums sold, ELO is one of the most popular bands of its era. These totals cover four consecutive Top 10 albums and seven in the Top 20, as well as a remarkable string of hit singles - 20 in the US Top 40 and seven of them in the Top 10.
