{"product_id":"freddie-mcgregor_mr-mcgregor_2026_disco-bertus-france","title":"Mr Mcgregor","description":"Jamaican singer born in Clarendon, Jamaica, on June 27, 1956. At age seven, he began singing in a choir for a local ska duo called The Clarendonians and recorded his first tracks at age ten under the pseudonyms \"Little Freddie\" or \"Young Freddie\", as well as in a duo with Ernest Wilson, alias \"Freddie \u0026amp; Fitsy\". McGregor spent much of the 1970s at Studio One. He was the lead singer of groups such as Generation Gap and Soul Syndicate, and also recorded sporadically as a solo artist during that decade. In 1975, McGregor converted to Rastafarianism. His first album, Mr. McGregor, was released in 1979. The album opens with \"We Got Love\", a track driven by a brass section influenced by Tower of Power, accompanying McGregor's narrative about the triumph of love. The classic track \"Rastaman Camp\" blends subtle brass with a warm chorus, evoking Nyahbinghi, for one of producer Niney's most profound compositions. But the lighter version of \"Brandy\", both sweet and catchy, is equally enjoyable. The album \"Mr. McGregor\" is available in a limited numbered edition of 750 copies on orange vinyl.","brand":"Freddie Mcgregor","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57307331625304,"sku":null,"price":20260619.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/8719262042216.jpg?v=1778954833","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/freddie-mcgregor_mr-mcgregor_2026_disco-bertus-france","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
