Description

Written between Quebec, Casablanca, and Marseille, in the studio but also while walking, dancing, mimicking the song of birds, a cappella or just accompanied by a synthesizer, here is the new album by Fred Nevché: Valdevaqueros. It is the name of a fine sandy beach, infinite, in Andalusia, surrounded by the dunes along the "Costa de la Luz," where the wind never ceases to blow.
As an echo, Fred Nevché unfolds, with his very particular timbre and according to his inner revolutions, an unyielding love of life. Falsely melancholic, the songs on this album with synthetic and minimal arrangements (Simon Henner / French 79, Martin Mey) abolish the boundaries between song, poetry, and long electronic beach, and have the refreshing effect of summer storms.
Designed as a larger whole at the time of writing, "Valdevaqueros" is accompanied by as many music videos as there are songs, and a visual poem (taking the form of a 30-minute film), inspired by the river poem "Décibel," which Fred Nevché offered for listening in January 2018, as a prelude to the album.
