Concertos pour piano n° 2 et n° 6
Description
It was like a small miracle when Nikolai Kapustin's music was discovered by a wider audience in the West: who was this Soviet composer (!) whose works most closely resembled Oscar Peterson's improvisations... and yet were composed as "classical" music, with complicated scores, was he completely black with notes?! As we discover more and more of Kapustin's music and as can be heard on this recording, Kapustin developed his style in a subtle and steady manner. He evolves with his time; the jazz that influenced him evolves over the years and his music does too. In this sense, Kapustin never really settled on a "found style," but remained elastic regarding the material that inspired him—as well as its integration into the classical orchestral body. Kapustin's style, in this sense, lies simply in the fact that he so inseparably fused jazz and classical music.Buy Concertos pour piano n° 2 et n° 6 at the best price
