"Piano Ombre", successor to "E Volo Love", is the first album by Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains recorded in a real studio, near Bordeaux, with the contribution of a producer (Ash Workman, sound engineer for Metronomy). The first French signing of the Domino label (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, The Kills,...) Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains is the project led by Frànçois Marry, surrounded by his musicians and friends Amaury Ranger and Pierre Loustaunau (alias Petit Fantôme), Jean Thevenin on drums, and the Scot Gerard Black on keyboards. The album traces a new journey made of personal trials, discoveries, convictions, and resolutions. "Piano Ombre" is a formidable and impressive collection of songs that revives the band's DNA composed of multiple influences, from afro-pop to French chanson or English guitar pop, like a sound atlas made of splendid pop melodies, cheerful rhythms, and lush ballads. It also captures the wild energy deployed by the band on stage. As a result, it is the most subtle and rich album by Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains to date.
