With the Ensemble Cantar Lontano, they allow us to savor the art with which Monteverdi, in his mature secular works, puts his music at the service of the word with an unprecedented innovative intensity. This sequence of madrigals, in its noblest sense, culminates in the highly dramatic interpretation of the Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda (with Luca Dordolo in the role of Testo). The libretto offers us an endearing vision of the Combat of Tancred between the stile moderno adopted by Monteverdi and the ideals of the Renaissance to which Artusi remained faithful, which is expressed with great power in the true Combattimento.
