"The Foo Fighters have confirmed that the release of their 8th album - due out this autumn via Roswell/RCA - will be accompanied by a documentary series on HBO chronicling its recording in 8 different cities. In this series, directed by band founder Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters explore the musical heritage of 8 cities - Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC, and New York - by recording in a legendary studio faithful to the spirit of each city. One song from the album was recorded in each city, each song features a prestigious guest, and each lyric was composed in an unprecedented way: Dave waited until the last day of each recording session to write, in order to draw the best inspiration from the studio experience with the different guests. "The passion Dave has put into this project is infectious, and his talents as a musician and director are undeniable," says Michael Lombardo, President of HBO.
