"The Journey" is an autobiographical account of Folamour's last two years, spent between airports and stages, London, France, and the rest of the world, between crowds and solitude, between highs and lows. An album, due next June, composed in metropolises and no man's lands, inspired by significant moments that deeply surprised and touched the artist. To express all these emotions, Folamour set aside samples and computers to focus on writing lyrics, recording strings and brass, drums, and vocals to be as close as possible to the moment. No limits on format or genre, complete freedom to choose the right tool for the picture.
This album is the sum of chance and encounters, an initiatory rite, both in form and content, the tale of a life with all the joys and trials it can contain, both in its writing and production and in its message.
"The Journey" blends contemporary sadness, the isolation of artists, but also the wonder of life's simple pleasures and the discoveries it brings. It is neither a joyful tale nor a sad and disillusioned one; it is the sum of all that and more.
