Forget the Rush marks the highly anticipated debut album from flypaper, the solo project of London-based singer-songwriter Rory Sear, following two acclaimed EPs released on the Swedish indie label PNKSLM Recordings (ShitKid, Clutter, 7 ebra, etc.). Formerly the frontman of Brighton indie rockers Beachtape, Rory Sear launched flypaper after moving to London and beginning to record himself alone at home. He draws inspiration from songwriting masters such as Randy Newman and Elliott Smith, imbuing his music with an intimate and personal sensibility. With Forget the Rush, flypaper fulfills the promise of his early EPs. The album develops a fuller sound while retaining the intimacy that was the strength of his early compositions, allowing his songwriting talents and melodies to take center stage.
