Back on vinyl, Satori by the Flower Travellin' Band remains one of the essential masterpieces of Japanese psychedelic rock. Released in 1971 by Atlantic Japan, this second album embodies the band's entire creative freedom, heavily influenced by British hard rock while developing a unique identity. Led by the charismatic Joe Yamanaka, surrounded by Hideki Ishima, Jun Kobayashi, and George Wada, the quartet established itself as a major reference in Japrock. Based in Toronto from 1970 to 1972 before disbanding in 1973, the group reformed in 2008 with its original members. This reissue allows for the rediscovery of a cult record, still as powerful more than fifty years after its release.
