An album of jazz that breaks free from the rigid confines of the 60's quintet to explore more modal, spiritual territories all the way to dance tracks. This album is heavily influenced by voodoo, a ceremony he experienced during a trip to Benin that left a profound mark on him. Incorporated as a full member of the quintet, voodoo has escaped from the black and white keys, the toms, the bass strings, the reed, and the pistons to soar towards the Olympus of the Greek Gods. To engage in a chase led by Anthony Joseph and Roger Raspail, from the Caribbean to London, to push open the doors of a dark room and infiltrate the soundtrack of a film noir of which Arthur H. would be the narrator on the eponymous track, or to fulfill its liberating and fiery role in the exuberance of a carnival.
