About Time

Description

"About Time" is the first album featuring a string orchestra by pianist-composer Florian Christl. His melodic and atmospheric compositions are inspired by his reflections on human perception of time and the beauty found in the awareness of life's impermanence. "The album's music reflects my search for the present moment. I believe that by focusing on the present moment, we can become aware of life's inevitable fleetingness and ephemeral nature and begin to appreciate the fragile beauty of this transience," explains Florian Christl. "About Time" is a poetic musical experience where grand moments of emotion highlighted by strings and orchestra contrast with intimate moments of calm depicted in piano miniatures. For the recording of "About Time," Florian Christl collaborated with the NDR Radiophilharmonie and conductor Ben Palmer. Violinist Nicklas Liepe also features on the album.
