Having attended the conservatory in Levallois-Perret at the age of 16, Florent Pagny has always had a strong taste for bel canto. In 1996, the artist had already won over the public with Caruso, a subtle blend of classical and pop signed by Lucio Dalla. Today, Florent Pagny repeats the exercise on a whole album. Composed of pieces from the classical repertoire ("La donna e mobile," "E lucean le stelle"), classic-rock covers ("Guide me home" by Freddie Mercury), and six original tracks (notably "Lo le cante per te," composed by Calogéro, and "Silenzio e pace" by Daran), "Baryton" is an ambitious project: an orchestra of 70 strings and 60 choristers, conducted by Yvan Cassar, have been mobilized for the event.
