Evermore rewrites the traditional rules of (melodic) European power metal in an extraordinary and unique way. With their 2021 debut album "Court Of The Tyrant King", they demonstrated remarkable talent. With "In Memoriam", their ideas, songwriting, and overall artistic approach go up a gear. While still maintaining a heavy and aggressive tone, Evermore's stunning melodies intertwine to create cleverly structured, yet always catchy and radio-friendly songs. This time around, the Swedish band even called upon a church choir to add an extra sonic layer. Lyrically, "In Memoriam" can be perceived as an album about people and the daily struggles that affect us all: "For those who lost their voice in the dark of night/Compassion is the flame that leads you home". Evermore's goal is to create music that makes you feel "something" and creates that sense of empowerment, mood elevation, and motivation that is so strongly associated with the metal genre.
