A virtuoso violinist, born in the United States in 1994, Esther Yoo began playing the violin at the age of 4 and then continued her musical studies in Belgium at the International School of Brussels. Since her remarkable concert debut at the age of 8, Esther has played with numerous orchestras such as the Helsinki and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestras, the Finnish Symphony Orchestra, and the Korean Chamber Orchestra. HIGHLIGHTS - At the 2010 International Sibelius Violin Competition, she became, at 14, the youngest winner of this prestigious competition. - Esther has performed as a soloist on the world's greatest stages such as London's Royal Festival Hall, the Palais des Beaux-Arts and Flagey Hall in Brussels, the Tel Aviv Opera, the Seoul Arts Center, and Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York. - Esther has won numerous awards including the First Prize at the 10th Wieniawski International Violin Competition for young violinists (in 2006), the European Union Music Prize, the Second Prize at the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition in 2003, the First Prize at the New York Music Competition (2000), and the First Prize at the New Jersey Competition (1999). - In 2009, she received the Special Achievement Award for her exceptional musical journey.
