The latest studio release from Ensiferum, "Thalassic", marked their peak in 2020 before the global pandemic. This eighth album dominated the charts in Finland and reached the top 10 in Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and the USA. After world tours and major festivals, the new album "Winter Storm" has been awaited for four years, the longest break in their history. Created largely during lockdown, the album sees founding guitarist Markus Toivonen compose almost all the tracks, except for the anthem "Fatherland" by Sami Hinkka. With the powerful voice of Pekka Montin, "Winter Storm" is a fantastical concept narrative where Ensiferum's music reaches new epic heights.
