His voice, sunny melodies, and repertoire filled with great hits have illuminated French song for several decades. Enrico Macias is celebrating over 60 years of a constantly evolving career this year with a new CD box set titled De musique en musique. Illustrated by Joann Sfar and featuring 88 tracks, De musique en musique traces the unique journey of the singer, songwriter, performer, and accomplished guitarist across four thematic discs. From the heartbreak of uprooting to the strong ties uniting France and the Mediterranean, each disc addresses the favorite themes of Enrico Macias's songs, conveying a message of peace and universal love to all generations. The first volume, titled L'amour (friendship and brotherhood too), includes a selection of his most beautiful ballads, such as "On s'embrasse et on oublie," "La Folle espérance," and "Je t'aimerai pour deux (live at L'Olympia 1968)." "Ouvre moi la porte" and "Malheur à celui qui blesse un enfant" accompany the disc La Famille (and transmission too), while Entre l'Orient et L'Occident builds a bridge between the Mediterranean and mainland France with "La France de mon enfance," "Les gens du Nord" (live at L'Olympia 1995), and "Adieu mon pays," performed as a duet with Kendji Girac. Finally, La Fête joyfully concludes this anthology by bringing together some of Enrico Macias's greatest hits, including "Le Mendiant de l'amour," "Les Filles de mon pays" (live at L'Olympia 1973), and "L'Oriental," in duet with Khaled. A humanistic and festive journey "from music to music" in the company of a popular icon who will celebrate his 85th birthday on December 11! On the occasion of the release of this box set, Enrico Macias will also give a special concert alongside Joann Sfar, who will create live drawings during the performance.
