Description
La mezzo-soprano canadienne Emily d'Angelo, revient avec un nouvel album, intitulé, Enargeia. Pour son opus, l'artiste s'est inspirée de Hildegard von Bingen, dont elle présente ici la musique dans de nouveaux arrangements par les grandes compositrices américaines Missy Mazzoli et Sarah Kirkland Snider. On y trouve également de nouvelles compositions de Mazzoli et Kirkland Snider, ainsi que deux oeuvres d’Hildur Guðnadóttir, lauréate d’un oscar pour sa musique originale pour la série Tchernobyl.L’album repose sur le concept hellénistique d'enargeia, "qualité d'extrêmevivacité, d'éclat ou de présence", dont l'esprit se retrouve dans la musique de chaque compositeur et dans les textes véhiculés par des ondes sonores.
