An American state, you might say. But the French-British musician has never set foot there. 'Nevada', for this vehicle that no longer exists, this vintage that we constantly seek, driven by nostalgia. Rocked by westerns watched on loop during lockdown, Wim Wenders' 'Paris Texas', Ry Cooder's music, road movies from 'Pierrot le Fou' to 'Thelma and Louise', Émilie Marsh creates a musical narrative with an unrelenting and multi-referential rhythm - These contrasting marriages make her songs immediate anthems, carried by the lightness, sometimes ironic, of pop, endowed with a rock'n'roll energy that Dani wouldn't disown. Émilie Marsh has learned to feel the image in music. Interspersed with interludes, 'Errances' (Wanderings) recorded on iPhone under the chassis of a car, improvised then roughly trimmed, 'Nevada' plays with moods and characters. The common thread is Émilie Marsh's voice, capable of multiple variations. An instant hit, "Nevada" is an invitation to travel, both geographical and sentimental, underscored by venomous riffs.
