In May June 1971, Elvis returned to Nashville to record tracks intended for several album projects: a Christmas album, a Gospel album, a "pop" album, and various tracks for single releases. He returned with the same group as the session from the previous year still in Nashville. The recordings are presented in this box set for the first time without any overdubs, so you can hear Elvis and his band playing live in the studio, and the result is extraordinary in mastery with Elvis at the peak of his vocal art. The sound that emerges from these sessions will be that of Elvis throughout the end of his career, a blend of Soul "Muscle Shoal" and country-rock.
