Raised in seven countries, Eliza Shaddad is the daughter of a Sudanese astrophysicist and a Scottish diplomat. A polyglot and philosophy graduate, Eliza studied jazz at London Guildhall before self-producing and recording her first EP with Jack Patterson of Clean Bandit. Eliza has released three EPs and one LP on various labels. Guitar sounds reminiscent of R.E.M. and an Alanis Morrisette-inspired harmonica provide the backdrop for Eliza's searing yet compassionate vocals. "Heaven" was recorded with producer BJ Jackson and guest guitarist Micheal Jablonka (Michael Kiwanuka), and mixed by Grammy Award winner Sam Okell (Celeste, PJ Harvey, Graham Coxon). This is a small taste of the plethora of music to come this year; and the beginning of a journey that celebrates the full range of their musical and lyrical prowess, from the introspective folk-infused sound of "Blossom" to their raw, riff-driven cinematic sounds.
