In this new recording, Elisabeth Leonskaja, one of the greatest pianists of our time, performs Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, nicknamed the "Emperor." She shares her mastery of Beethoven with the talents of the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, an ensemble of instrumentalists aged 16 to 25. Under the direction of Michael Schonwandt, former music director of the orchestra, this recording was made at the Auditorium de l'Opéra de Dijon, a hall prized by Leonskaja for its acoustics and architecture.
