Elina Garanca returns to her Latvian roots in this introspective and enchanting new album. Elina Garanca presents a beautiful selection of spiritual music dedicated to the search for inner peace in a very personal album. With a father who is a choir conductor and a mother who teaches singing, Elina grew up immersed in choral music, Meditation thus reflects on the origins of her career as a singer. The album features some discoveries such as the piece Dievaines by Latvian composer Ugis Praulin, but also a number of great hits from the repertoire such as Adam's Cantique de Noël. Elina is joined on this recording by her husband, Gibraltar conductor Karel Mark Chichon, for their second collaboration on Deutsche Grammophon, following the success of Habanera. She is undoubtedly the greatest mezzo-soprano of her generation, with an extraordinary voice, technique, and musicality.
