La peur et le vent

Description

« La Peur et le Vent », the fourteenth stone, and a substantial one, in the edifice of the EIFFEL project. Romain Humeau is no bird of passage; he is more like the limestone of the Lot region. And in his galaxy, the star Estelle never leaves his sky, for as the man says: without Estelle, no Eiffel. At the end of a bumpy-chaotic road, these two have planted rock, desire, and time. It is here that Romain set down "Eiffel groupe" to better trace his path solo, to continue a road born over thirty years ago: Eiffel as a life project, that of a solitary author open to all solar winds. Romain Humeau remains the pop acrobat, moon-catcher, whom he had sometimes striven to silence beneath shavings of saturated guitars. One eye in the clouds, one foot anchored to the ground, he reveals himself soul, if not crooner. Romain remains anchored to his verb, singular and crucial, urgent, polissonique. He remains anchored to his black-light words, fire and ashes, lunar at every turn of song. More than ever, his songs are struck with thrust and cut and punch in the corners of the ring, always saving tenderness, damn it. Fourteen songs written at dawn, in the depths of night, in the studio-chapel, in a sacred silence, when the wolves take their leave.
