Driven by the powerful single 'A TON OF LOVE' with Bono's influence hovering over it, THE WEIGHT OF YOUR LOVE, Editors' fourth studio album and the first recorded with new members Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams, is, according to singer-songwriter Tom Smith, "a band record, a rock record with one foot in the alt-rock/Americana world." Recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studio with acclaimed producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon, etc.) and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arctic Monkeys, The Horrors, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver), this album represents a new beginning for the band in many ways. The band's third album, *In This Light And On This Evening*, released in 2009, went straight to number one in the UK charts, as did its predecessor, *An End Has A Start*. In six years, since their multi-platinum debut album *The Back Room*, the band has seen many of its contemporaries disappear while becoming one of the biggest European bands. Inspired, among other things, by Scott Litt's work with REM and based on a live approach to recording, THE WEIGHT OF YOUR LOVE contains Editors' most vehement and direct songs to date.
