Considered the best album by the British band, Ocean Rain owes its success in particular to the superb romantic and dark ballad The Killing Moon. An ambitious record, Ocean Rain brings out the heavy artillery with its plethora of instruments (xylophone, glockenspiel, synthesizer, piano, violins, etc.) to envelop the deep and magnetic voice of Ian McCulloch, which marries wonderfully with the crystalline guitar of Will Sergeant.
