Music Gardens of the World

Description

The idea for this project came to Dusan Bogdanovic when he compiled a collection of world music for his young son. But after hearing the duo Antigoni Goni and Eleonora Perretta, he enriched it considerably. A rich diversity emerges: songs from the 17th century to Irish jigs on the violin, humorous Dalmatian songs to a Sephardic romance, dances from southeastern Iran to Balinese rice plantation music. He also added arrangements of three popular Neapolitan songs. The musical collaboration between Antigoni Goni and Eleonora Perretta is a harmonious symbiosis of different generations, cultural backgrounds, and artistic inclinations. What began as a teacher-student relationship at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (KCB) quickly transformed into a creative artistic partnership, characterized by mutual respect, admiration, artistic exchanges, and a shared passion for the limitless expressive potential of the classical guitar. This was their first recording here - the works of Dusan Bogdanovic suit them perfectly, as this composer, whose bold and eclectic music harmonizes wonderfully with the guitarists' playing, described their collaboration as "magnificent and glorious."
