The Meanest Of Times is the 6th studio album by the Boston gang. It is a collection of stories about family, loyalty, and memories. The Meanest Of Times contains all the ingredients of a good DROPKICK MURPHYS album: a dose of punk rock, a hint of Celtic rock, and a pinch of rock'n'roll! Recorded at the Outpost studio in Stoughton, the 16 songs of The Meanest Of Times were lovingly produced by the DROPKICK MURPHYS themselves! Notably, it features 2 legendary figures from the Celtic scene: SPIDER STACY of the POGUES and RONNIE DREW of the DUBLINERS. Recently, DROPKICK MURPHYS had the chance to have a track (I'm Shipping Up To Boston) used as the title track of the film The Departed by MARTIN SCORSESE! This generated over 250,000 digital sales of this song. Since then, interest in the band has been growing, evidenced by a film produced by Cinemax and HBO that will be broadcast in the USA this fall.
