The hyperactive DROPKICK MURPHYS, the emblematic band from Boston formed twenty years ago, return with a ninth album. Produced by Ted Hutt and intentionally recorded in the middle of nowhere (specifically in El Paso, Texas), this new album brings together Al Barr (vocals), Tim Brennan (guitar, accordion, mellotron, and vocals), Ken Casey (vocals and bass), Jeff DaRosa (banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonica, guitar, and vocals), Matt Kelly (drums and backing vocals), and James Lynch (guitar and backing vocals). Influenced by their collaboration with The Claddagh Fund, an organization supporting former drug addicts, the band members offer songs that reflect the sadness, anger, and dismay they feel in the face of drug use and the disasters ravaging their country. The strength of the band also lies in its ability to deliver true anthems and optimistic songs that one can easily imagine being chanted by crowds in stadiums around the world. The song '4-15-13', one of the most poignant in the history of DROPKICK MURPHYS, is a tribute to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing (2013) while the already available single 'Mood' is dedicated to the mutual respect that exists between the band and its fans.
