Distance Over Time is the 14th studio album by the band and after selling more than 15 million albums, Dream Theater wanted to see things a little differently. Indeed, for the first time, the band members lived, wrote, and recorded together for four months in the isolated studios of Yonderbarn in Monticello, New York State. For this new album, the band wanted to return to its roots and produce a more organic record. Despite these changes and a still unique signature consisting of combining metallic aggression with remarkable progressive scope positioning this new opus as a delicately crafted, rich, complex, and very intuitive osmosis.
