Issuing from the sonic mosaic of the British post-rave era, the group Dreadzone has nearly three decades of career behind them and returns with an eighth album. Dread Times continues the work started 23 years ago. It features the old school sound that made their success, enriched here by new beats and electronic textures as well as lyrics that are resolutely in tune with the current times, from social issues to court troubles and mental health struggles.
Recorded in west London, the original members welcome a new member Brazil on this album as well as Marlon, the son of Greg Dread, and the ragga duo Lou & Mitchie One. This album could well become a must-have in the oeuvre of this iconic dub scene group.
