Born in Germany, the countertenor Andreas Scholl is one of the greatest singers in his field. His particularly smooth voice and penetrating timbre make him instantly recognizable upon listening. He perfected his skills with René Jacobs at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. His recordings have already received a large number of awards in all countries. Dorothee Oberlinger is one of the great discoveries of recent years: expressive, virtuosic, a musician to the tips of her fingers, she is said to currently be the greatest performer on the recorder active today. She leads the "Ensemble 1700" which she formed in 2003, and with which she has already completed several artistic projects around 17th and 18th-century music. In 2004, she was appointed professor at the prestigious Mozarteum University in Salzburg. The program of this recording brings together some of the most beautiful instrumental and vocal pieces by Bach, entrusted here to two major performers of today.
