Initially scheduled for 12/5 release In November 1960, trumpeter Donald Byrd brought his quintet to New York’s Half Note Café to record this soulful, swinging, joyous hard bop live set with Pepper Adams on baritone saxophone, Duke Pearson on piano, Laymon Jackson on bass, and Lex Humphries on drums. This all-analog, stereo Tone Poet Edition was mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and presented in a deluxe gatefold jacket.
