The Australian trio - composed of singer and drummer Tommy O'Dell, guitarist and singer Matt Mason, and guitarist Johnny Took - played a special acoustic concert at the Memo Music Hall in Melbourne last year as part of MTV's iconic Unplugged series. Their second album, 'For Now', had already sparked a massive influx of passionate new fans. It also earned three nominations at the ARIA Music Awards, for Best Group, Best Rock Album, and Best Independent Album, and climbed to number 13 on the UK charts to date, the band's highest position in the United Kingdom. Now, 'MTV Unplugged Live' is in the starting blocks. Alongside big names such as Nirvana, Oasis, and R.E.M., the DMA's, as one of the first Australian bands, also found themselves in a private session at the 'Melbourne Memo Music Hall' and created a remarkable work. From MTV Unplugged, we know that raw, hymn-like energy, which also compelled the DMA's to strip down their songs to the essentials and pave the way for a whole new sonic world, supported by acoustic guitars, piano, violins, and cello.
