Boasting exceptional sound quality thanks to the most modern remastering techniques, Label Ouest's reissues of Django Reinhardt's work have established themselves as the most significant recent work dedicated to the music of the brilliant Manouche. From this benchmark collection, acclaimed by the press (Choc Jazz Magazine, Must TSF Jazz…), we now offer the quintessence, through a series of four albums, released for the first time on vinyl.
In 1953, American producer Norman Granz entrusted Eddie Barclay with recording an album intended to promote Django Reinhardt's music in the United States and relaunch his international career. The guitarist was then at the peak of his expressive art, playing an amplified instrument. This would be the only LP recorded by Django during his lifetime, benefiting from unparalleled sound quality, here enhanced by Jean-Pierre Bouquet's remastering. The set is completed by a selection of tracks from sessions of the same year, including the very last, just a few weeks before the artist's death.
The retrospective of Django Reinhardt's work, released in a series of box sets between 2015 and 2022, has become a benchmark collection acclaimed by the press (Choc Jazz Magazine, Must TSF Jazz...), offering the best of Django with the best sound.
Discover the quintessence of this work through this series of vinyls, benefiting from exceptional sound quality thanks to the remastering work carried out.
