Live at Singer concert hall 1973

Description

Fondamenta has brought together musicians and researchers from around the world. These sound archaeologists all share the ability to track down and recognize truly exceptional recordings. After months of research, we are proud to present today the Lost Recordings collection. The remastering of these gems is entrusted to the Phoenix Mastering (TM) process developed over several years by the engineers at Fondamenta, at the heart of which are Devialet technologies. This expertise allows us to reveal lost recordings as if they were just recorded. A Collection is Born! On August 25, 1973, Dizzy Gillespie comes before the Dutch audience in Laren. True to himself, he introduces his musicians in a playful and generous mood, then launches into a thunderous Caribbean tempo that will last 19 minutes! With a deep voice, Dizzy then evokes his friend Martin Luther King. He dedicates to him "Brother 'K'", a tender ballad punctuated by flashes of storm and anger. As a conclusion, Dizzy invokes his roots through "The Blues", a track with which he puts aside his trumpet to unleash all the strength and warmth of his voice. The musicians retreat on an surprisingly light theme. We leave as we arrive, on tiptoe. However, there remains a certainty: "Yes Dizzy, you made it." This concert given as part of the international Jazz festival in Laren, Netherlands, is simply a small masterpiece of spontaneity.
