Description

Known in the fields of jazz and world music for their long-term projects and the ephemeral collaborations they organize (Trans Kabar, Pensées Rotatives, Discobole Parties), Théo Girard and Stéphane Hoareau, artists associated with Discobole, have for years been developing a fusion music with improvisation as its core, alongside spaces for spontaneous creation typical of jazz from all eras. Following their past experiments, they have created an orchestra that reflects them, and for its creation, they invited a Maloya music icon, the Réunionnais singer Christine Salem. With her blues-infused Maloya, Christine Salem blazes her wandering trails, pays tribute to her ancestors, and sings of peace. The result is a unique fusion of sounds and styles, where the powerful rhythms of Maloya blend with the sophisticated harmonies of jazz. The orchestra is composed of talented musicians, each bringing their own distinctive voice to the ensemble. Together, they create music that is both profound and moving, yet incredibly catchy and full of energy. It is a musical experience not to be missed for all lovers of jazz and world music.
