Description
Second album by the English rock band Dire Straits, "Communiqué" was released in 1979. It was produced and recorded by Atlantic label veteran Jerry Wexler and organist Barry Beckett at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas. It is the logical continuation of the band's previous and first album, "Dire Straits", as seen in the single "Lady Writer", which resembles the hit "Sultans of Swing". The album reached eleventh place on the US charts, and the single "Lady Writer" charted at forty-fifth.
