The third album by Californian band Dipygus, on the Spanish label Memento Mori. Recorded in spring 2021, these seven new tracks were once again laid down on tape at Darker Corners Studios in San Luis Obispo under the guidance of Alejandro Corredor and Matt Harvey. If you've already succumbed to the charms of the Californians' primitive Death Metal, it's highly likely you'll do so again here. Two and a half years after the excellent Bushmeat, Dipygus has lost none of its brilliance. While the Americans are content to follow in their own footsteps, it doesn't matter, because between all the judiciously collected samples, the infernal tropical jungle atmospheres, and the creatures as menacing as they are strange, the Americans have something almost uniquely their own. What's more, although it is indeed an EP, this return to business proves to be rather generous, clocking in at almost half an hour. In short, a winning return for the Californians, who will continue to delight us with their primitive and raw Death Metal.
