German bassist Dieter Ilg is a truly unique figure on his instrument: Internationally renowned for his work with Albert Mangelsdorf, Wolfgang Dauner, Till Brönner, Thomas Quasthoff, Randy Brecker, Nguyên Lê, Dave Liebman, Mike Stern, Charlie Mariano and many others, he has dedicated the last decade of his career as a leader to reimagining the works of classical composers. After Verdi, Wagner, Bach and Beethoven, Ilg dedicates his latest work to the great impressionist Maurice Ravel. With an inimitable and singing timbre, a precise and airy groove, a great imagination, and together with his extraordinarily sensitive trio composed of himself, pianist Rainer Böhm and drummer Patrice Héral.
