And as postmodern society crumbles, Die Spitz finds a thousand and one ways to resist. If the rock world were an ice cream vendor, the Austin quartet would have tasted every flavor, turned the freezer upside down, and danced with the employees they helped unionize. On their debut album, Something to Consume (on Third Man Records), Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter fight against the consumerism that defines our existence today. "There's a political aspect to it, but addiction and love can also be consuming," explains Livingston. The four musicians swap instruments, share songwriting and vocals, and produce powerful tracks in bursts. Die Spitz have created their own haven where we can all meet at the edge of the abyss.
