In 2007, every Monday, friends gather over a drink to ramble about their desires. From these excessive meetings, Die on Monday is born. Benjamin Rubin (former riff guitarist of the band Aqme) initiated the project, joined by Guillaume Brouzes (former drummer of the band Comity) and Toni Rizzotti (singer of the band Enhancer). Vincent Mercier (former bassist of Vegastar) joins the group shortly after. The first demos emerge quickly (“What you want?” and “I don't belong”). Made available to the public online, the success is swift, and enthusiasm grows. After about ten shows in France and Belgium, the band focuses on their first album. For a year, they combine their influences with their nights. “Black Cat” is a rock album, with a sparkling aftertaste of Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, Black Sabbath... “Black Cat” is produced by Die on Monday, recorded by Guyom Pavesi, mixed by Fred Duquesne (guitarist and producer of the bands Empyr and Watcha). Die on Monday had the doors of Abbey Road studio opened to them, where the album was mastered by Steve Rooke (Franz Ferdinand, Killing Joke, In Flames, ...). Raw and dirty sounds, catchy riffs, and energetic melodies blend together on this eventful first opus.
